About Kaukoretket trekking and outdoor tours:
Enjoying active outdoor travel and experiences that only nature can offer are the most important features of Kaukoretket tours, and the culture of the place of destination always plays a central role in the tour program. Our tours are planned in cooperation with Suomen Latu (Finland’s largest promoter of outdoor activities) and Olympia Air Travel (tour operator since 1952), and produced by Olympia.
Group size:
The size of a tour group is normally 15-21 persons, ensuring that our tour leaders can accomodate every traveller in an individual atmosphere and maintain group flexibility. We set a minimum number of travellers for each tour to guarantee that all tours will be conducted.
Professional tour leaders:
A professional, helpful, competent and organized tour leader is the best possible guarantee of a successful and rewarding tour. Typically, a Kaukoretket tour leader guides a group commencing in Finland and remains with the group for the duration of the journey (in some cases, a tour leader will meet a group at its first destination, or escort the group to the return flight from the last destination).
Customers:
The typical Kaukoretket customer is physically active, enjoys nature and the outdoors, and is interested in foreign cultures.
Flights:
Kaukoretket uses scheduled flights.
Tour schedule / itinerary:
Of course, all Kaukoretket tours are carried out as closely as possible to their original itineraries, but due to their special characteristics, variables such as conditions of hiking routes, weather, etc., can influence the implementation of the original itinerary. As such, Kaukoretket retains the right to amend the itinerary as necessary.
